Glorious Fall Getaways

Do you know what the major difference is between Dale Hollow Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains is in the fall? Crowds! They have them. We don’t so much. Nearly every weekend is filled with a festival or event (or three) in one of the small towns or another around Dale Hollow Lake. Byrdstown is just a short, scenic drive from all of them. The Rollercoaster Yard Sale each year brings people searching for bargains the first full weekend of October. Byrdstown hosts the Dale Hollow Bass Classic and the Town of Byrdstown 5K/3K to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The countryside does not disappoint in autumnal beauty. Fishing is improved over summer months and school sports, and activities abound.
