Primary Care - yearly physicals, well child care, Welcome to Medicare physicals, sick visits, and all other types of primary care. Urgent Care - here for your family's minor emergencies and sickness. In most cases, same day and walk-in appointments are available. Minor Surgery - a wide range of minor surgery, including mole and skin tag removal, wart removal, joint injection, abscess drainage, cyst and lipoma excision, ingrown toenail removal, and lacerations. We also offer a wide range of cosmetic procedures including spider vein treatment! Lab Services - comprehensive lab services, including standard screening blood work, hormone levels, thyroid tests, cholesterol levels, diabetes testing, comprehensive pediatric screening tests, urine tests, strep screens, flu tests, cultures, and anything else our providers feel you need to keep you healthy or diagnose your condition. Sports Physicals - child's sports and school physicals. We offer vision and hearing screening as indicated and can make sure your child is healthy and safe to participate in athletics. Occupational Medicine - DOT physicals, insurance physicals, and will gladly see you for worker's comp treatment or insurance related care due to accidents or on-the-job injuries. Radiology Services - on-site x-ray and ultrasound to help our providers diagnose and treat your condition. Hospital Medicine - Dr. Tompkins holds admitting privileges to both Livingston Regional Hospital and Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His relationships with the Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist groups at both hospitals allow him to work closely with your provider to determine the most appropriate facility to meet your inpatient medical needs, and in most cases arrange for you to be directly admitted to the hospital if indicated. Most of the time, this will allow you to skip a long wait in the ER. Dr. Shaffer has close ties with Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital and works closely with all providers to ensure your child is cared for properly in the hospital if the need arises. Skilled Nursing Facility Care - Dr. Tompkins serves as Medical Director for Pickett County Care and Rehabilitation, in Byrdstown. He sees patients who are admitted there either for short term rehabilitation or long term residents. By providing care to this population, FirstChoice Family Care is able to deliver comprehensive primary care to our patients no matter where they are located in the healthcare system.

Livingston Regional Hospital (LRH) is a 114-bed hospital providing a continuum of care covering all aspects of healthcare, from 24-hour emergency services to rehabilitative services on both an impatient and an outpatient basis, Level II-A neonatal nursery, a 10-bed gero-psych unit and many other services. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital in Livingston serves a five-county area in central Tennessee and southern Kentucky. Privacy, confidentiality, and safety are main concerns for all our patients. To address these issues, our employees are HIPAA trained and receive annual fire and safety training. For additional security, our facility is 100% sprinkler covered and has a state of the art fire detection system.
