Pickett County Press
Pickett County Press
The Pickett County Press is one of the oldest businesses still in operation in Byrdstown. The first publication was printed in November 1962 and has carried forward throughout three generations of the Hill family. Grandfather Norman Hill was the first editor followed by father James Hill as editor and publisher. The third generation began with Jamie Hill Garrett. In April 2005, at the age of 26, Amanda Hill Bond purchased the newspaper from her sister Jamie and remains the current editor and owner.
