The Proof Is in the Making Trail
There are a number of wineries and craft breweries in the region, but we would like to highlight these and invite you to visit. If you’re looking to sample award-winning wines and unique brews, check out these offerings in any order you wish.
The oldest winery in Tennessee is Highland Manor Winery in Jamestown, Tennessee. All of their wines are crafted on the premises from premium-quality grapes. They also have a well-furnished gift shop, an event venue (including weddings), a wine cellar and free wine tastings.
They have recently added Sawbriar Brewing next door, Fentress County’s first tap room with Tennessee’s finest craft beers, cocktails, wood-fired pizza and more! They are located at 2965 S. York Hwy. in Jamestown. They are also RV and horse trailer friendly. www.highlandmanorwinery.com. You can find Sawbriar on Facebook.
Southern Kentucky Distillery is fairly new to the area, but they are coming on strong! This craft brewery is located in Burkesville, KY, at 4890 Albany Rd. They have a gift shop, a tasting room for tours, and an event venue (including weddings). They produce around 50 barrels a day. Some of the brands they offer are Ancient Sun Vodka, Slate Flavored Moonshine, Broadhead Wheated Bourbon and Long Ridge Rye Bourbon. You can find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Southernkentuckydistillery.
